Badges of America is a new 501(c)3 non-profit organization comprised of a team of motivated individuals that want to give back to those that make the sacrifices for our communities. Through your donations, Badges of America is designed to provide a wide-array of services to the individuals that work in highly rewarding careers but are afforded below average salary and benefits. Also, through community events we hope to help shine a light on the selfless work performed by these heroes, as well as, enhance community appreciation for the work that our military and first responder personnel do on a daily basis. We are hoping that as a result, it will bring these workers and the residents they serve closer together to make a more unified community.
In today's society we rely on watching television to give us information on current events. Most of the times the information you receive are from programs that make a living off sensationalizing info to gain viewership. And as a result, information that you were provided may have inaccuracies. To find out the reasons, to answer your own questions...go spend a day with a first responder. Go talk to a veteran that served on a deployment and ask them how they feel about the healthcare they are "given" as a thank you for their service. Get out of your comfort-zone and get the truth of what your first responders go through. Go for a ride-along and learn first hand the obstacles that our servicemen and women are up against.
Badges of America is currently in the process of organizing charity events including athletic events, poker runs, 5k run/walk, along with other events in and around the Myrtle Beach area.
